I just wanted to echo the planners sentiments about budgeting. Way too many brides spend all their budget on the mandap and centerpieces. Up-lighting can truly transform a room, and entertainment impacts the entire 4 to 5 hour reception. The decor usually has a 5 minute wow factor and is then dormant and forgotten. How the entertainment helps the evening flow and how much fun you and your guests have really determins your overall view of the entire celebration! Entertainment is 80% of the reception but usually less than 10% of the budget, which makes no sence!

I want to share a bad experience with Rose Events.. they showed me photos of weddings that they did NOT even do.. or were not even involved with. My friend who did use them was after we did not was so disappointed. They were never avail for her, they told her that she was being a bridezilla when she really needed their help and had the most horrible staff show up to her wedding. If she could have fired them.. she would have esp after paying them around $15,000. What a waste of money.

It sounds like you really like Rose Events, are you related to them? I called them three times for my wedding and no one ever called me back, their customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE.

Thanks for your comments and for reading Nirali!

The article clearly states that Elegant Affairs is an event decoration company. The photos pictured here are events that they decorated. We have inserted "decorated" in the caption to resolve any confusion.

Unfortunately, we cannot include every South Asian wedding planner in an article such as this, as there are too many.

Thanks for reading, and congratulations on a beautiful wedding!

Dear Nirali,

I would like to take this opportunity to correct a mistake that has been published by Nirali Magazine based on information and photography that has been provided by Elegant Affairs..
The picture on the left, among the three pictures captions, "events by elegant affairs"..was not planned or coordinated by Elegant Affairs. They are not true Wedding Planners as you refer to them in your article. That event at Gotham hall was my wedding and reception and it was planned and coordinated from a-z by Vaishali Sawant of Rose Events, llc. A full service event planning firm, based in New Jersey.

I would appreciate a correction and accurate reporting in the future, especially from a well published Magazine such as Nirali. For you to have left out Rose events, event planners in your article is in itself a deteriment to the validity of your content.

Please let your readers know, and it is only fair to give credit where credit is due.

Sincerely,

Ruchika
