Jimmy! Aaja!

Hot blonde bob-shell.
The video of M.I.A.’s Jimmy was leaked by the director and has landed on YouTube. The song itself samples the song Jimmy from the 1983 movie Disco Dancer. The video boasts shots of a golden M.I.A. as a multi-armed goddess spliced with a dancing blonde M.I.A. (with a hot haircut, may I add.) in a metallic vaguely Pucci-esque dress against a white backdrop.
Watch both versions after the jump and then tell me, dear readers… Do you like the original version or M.I.A.’s? Leave me a comment!

how can you compare an original and a copy? but MIA gets my points for her wit and irony, and the ability to mash-up a tune!
Both are a disgrace
the original is hilarious! but so is every movie made/song/video from that disco era. as an MIA fan i give props to her for changing her style up a bit and saluting her desi roots
“Jimmy” in the second one looks like he was pulled off the set of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Both songs are so catchy though!
Original! M.I.A. has lost her edge.
In fact the “original” Jimmy is also copied - from a French Canadian song by Ottawan (of Hands Up fame). Here’s the link:

That sounds nothing like it!
I love MIA’s song - definitely one of my favourites from her new album.
I vote for the original - MIA is interesting but so much classic bollywood music is being incorporated into modern music it’s losing it’s unique flare, I prefer the original old song or an original new song.
