Philip Reeves, an NPR foreign correspondant who covers South and Central Asia, is presenting a five part series on the Ganges, India’s famed holy river. The pieces trace the actual course of the river and touch on such topics as environmental pollution, luxury resorts, youth alienation, widespread rural poverty and the recent economic boom.
