Aarti Jhaveri was born and raised in Kobe, Japan. Though she misses her home town dearly, New York City’s respectable array of sushi shops and karaoke bars has given her a reason to stay. On the rare occasion that she emerges from her stack of political economy textbooks—a direct result of pursuing a master’s degree in international affairs—she can be found wandering the streets of the West Village, planning her upcoming wedding and updating her blog where she writes about all things in flux. If you know of a fabulous brunch spot, when The Shins are playing in the New York area or if Arundhati Roy is actually ever coming out with a second book, please e-mail Aarti at aarti @ niralimagazine.com.
