A true blue Wolverine, Deepa is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biopsychology and cognitive science and a master’s in public health degree in toxicology and reproductive and women’s health. She is currently in her final year of medical school in Chicago and is gleefully anticipating the light at the end of the educational tunnel.

Deepa is an avid reader, but admits to watching more television than she really should. She adores haute couture fashion, but is a champion clearance rack shopper. Deepa also enjoys traveling, cooking and progressive politics. She is Konkani and proud of it.

Deepa also thinks this is beginning to sound alarmingly like a “biodata,” and suggests that inquiries in that vein can be directed to her parents. But if you want to talk , email her at deepa @ niralimagazine.com.
